How Workroom connects to the site you already have
You can register a website you already own instead of generating one. Workroom adds no hosting and changes nothing about where the site lives — you add one script tag and visits and enquiries start arriving in your workroom. Workroom also reads the live site to draft its business profile, so the shared context layer is populated without you retyping it.
How it works.
Register the URL
Add the website you already own from the dashboard. It is stored as an external site: no generation, no hosting, no version bundle.
The profile is drafted from the live site
Workroom researches the URL in the background so the response stays instant. When nothing verifiable is found the profile stays empty for you to fill in.
Add one snippet
A single async script tag carrying your site id. Copy it from the site's Settings page, which also shows whether data has started arriving.
Visits and enquiries arrive
The snippet beacons pageviews and form submissions to the same endpoints a Workroom-built site uses, so contacts and analytics look identical.
Google data connects at the workspace level
Search Console properties are matched against your hostname, including its www and apex sibling, with a manual override on Settings when the match is not obvious.
What to know before you rely on it.
- Nothing about your hosting changes: no DNS move, no rebuild, no migration weekend.
- Building, domains, and design tools do not apply to a site Workroom does not host — those surfaces are for generated sites.
- Form capture is passive by default. Taking over submits is opt-in with one data attribute, for static sites whose forms currently go nowhere.
- There is no hosting subscription for a site you host yourself.
- Recurring routines on a connected site are coming soon. Today the connection covers analytics, enquiries, and the business profile.
Questions, answered.
Do I have to rebuild my website?+
No. The site stays exactly where it is. Workroom adds a measurement and enquiry layer on top of it.
Can Workroom edit a site it does not host?+
No. Editing, versions, and publishing apply to sites Workroom generates. For a site you host yourself, Workroom observes and reports.

How Workroom captures every enquiry
A first-party runtime on every published site turns visits into pageviews and form submissions into contacts, then routes new enquiries to email, Slack, Google Sheets, or a webhook.
HostingHow Workroom keeps hosting fast and secure
Published sites are served at Cloudflare's edge, looked up by hostname, cached briefly, and returned under a strict policy. Custom domains get a certificate issued and renewed for you.
ContextHow Workroom keeps your business facts aligned
One business profile per site — what you do, who you help, your offers, tone, verified facts, proof points, and a never-say list — read by every AI surface that writes for you.
Describe the business. See the site.
Building and previewing is free, and chat editing is unlimited.
