How Workroom captures every enquiry

Every published Workroom site carries a small first-party runtime, added to the document as it is served. It beacons pageviews and takes over form submissions, posting them into your workspace as contacts — so lead capture works from the first version, with nothing to wire up and no third-party tag to install. New enquiries can also fan out the moment they arrive, to email, Slack, Google Sheets, or a webhook.

How it works.

01

The runtime is added when the page is served

It is not something the model has to remember. The beacon is injected into the served document, and the build contract already requires a contact form on the homepage.

02

Visits become pageviews

A same-origin beacon records the path, the referrer, and any campaign parameters. The request never leaves your own site host.

03

Submissions become contacts

The runtime intercepts the form submit, reads the fields, posts them to your workspace, and shows the visitor an inline thank-you — nobody gets bounced to a separate confirmation page.

04

The enquiry lands in one place

Contacts collect in your workroom with the visit history attached, so you can see what someone read before they got in touch.

05

And is routed to wherever you work

Any channels you have configured — email, Slack, Google Sheets, or a webhook — receive the enquiry as it arrives.

What to know before you rely on it.

  • Capture is first-party and same-origin. There is no third-party tracker on your site, and generated sites run under a policy that would not permit one.
  • Fan-out channels are per site and opt-in: nothing is sent anywhere until you configure a channel.
  • On a website you host yourself the same capture works through a one-line snippet, where form takeover is off by default and has to be switched on.
  • Automatic follow-up drafting is part of the Lead Follow-ups routine, which is coming soon. Capture itself is live today.

Questions, answered.

Do I need a separate analytics or forms tool?+

No. Pageviews and form submissions are captured by the site itself and land as contacts and events in your workspace.

What does a visitor see after they submit?+

They stay on the page and get an inline confirmation. The enquiry is posted in the background.
