Launch a business website after testing the public customer journey

A website is ready to launch when its business information is accurate, essential pages work on mobile and desktop, and the primary action reaches its intended destination. Verify the actual public domain after deployment. A successful build, a preview screenshot or a “published” message does not by itself prove that customers can use the site.

Launch acceptance checks

Pass each check on the actual public domain.

  1. 1

    Accurate content

    Real services, contacts and evidence.

  2. 2

    Usable layouts

    Mobile, desktop and essential navigation.

  3. 3

    Working action

A test request reaches its destination.

  4. 4

    Public verification

Domain, indexing settings and follow-up owner.

Review the content that affects a customer decision

Check the business name, service scope, location or coverage, hours and contact details. Verify qualifications, testimonials and project claims against real records. Replace placeholder photographs and sample addresses. If the site includes terms or privacy information, ensure the business has reviewed them for its actual operation rather than accepting generated wording without inspection.

Test on mobile and desktop

Open the homepage and each important landing page at both sizes. Confirm text remains readable, navigation works and buttons have clear labels. Inspect image crops and avoid text embedded in a graphic that becomes unreadable on a phone. Try keyboard navigation for essential actions. A desktop screenshot alone can miss a hidden mobile hero or an off-screen contact button.

Complete the main action

Send a labeled test inquiry and confirm its arrival. If the site links to a booking, payment or client service, follow the link and confirm it reaches the intended destination. Do not create a real charge or appointment merely to test a marketing link; use the appropriate test process or obtain authorization. Check the error path as well as a successful submission.

Connect and verify the public domain

Confirm who controls the domain and follow the hosting provider’s current connection instructions. Preserve records used by email and other services. After deployment, inspect the public site in a signed-out browser. Verify the preferred address, HTTPS, canonical URLs and search-indexing settings. Keep preview and account routes excluded from the marketing index.

Keep a launch record and a follow-up check

Record the deployed version, launch date, checked URLs and any remaining noncritical work. Submit or update the sitemap through the appropriate search tooling and monitor discovery separately from publication. Search visibility is not immediate or guaranteed. Recheck the main contact action after launch and assign someone to handle reports of a broken page or missing inquiry.
