How Workroom makes every change reversible
Nothing in Workroom edits a website in place. Every change — a chat edit, a component change, a published blog post, an update from an AI assistant — writes a new immutable version holding the whole site. Restoring is itself a new version, so rolling back never destroys what you rolled back from, and the history only ever grows.
How it works.
A version holds the whole site
Both what visitors see and what was authored are stored together, so a restore brings back a complete, coherent site rather than a patchwork of old and new pages.
Every write path goes through one seam
Chat edits, component changes, published posts, and agent updates all land through the same write path. There is no side door that changes a live page without recording a version.
Restoring is append-only
Rolling back inserts a new version from the old one and points the site at it. The version you left is still sitting in the list, ready to be restored in turn.
Staging and production are separate
Your workroom address always shows the newest version. A connected custom domain moves only when you promote, so you can iterate without changing what customers see.
Stale writes are refused
A writer can name the version it started from. If the site moved on in the meantime, the write is rejected rather than landing on top of work it never saw.
What to know before you rely on it.
- A version covers the site bundle. Contacts, analytics, and settings live outside it and are not rolled back with a restore.
- There is no way to delete a version. That is the point of an append-only history, but it does mean the list only grows.
- Restoring brings back the whole bundle, not a single page. To change one page, edit it and publish a new version.
Questions, answered.
What if an AI assistant breaks a page?+
Restore the previous version. An agent's write is an immutable version like any other, and restoring it is one click in the dashboard or one call from the assistant.
Does every edit go straight to my domain?+
No. Your workroom address follows the newest version, subject to the short edge-cache window; a connected custom domain moves only when you promote.

How AI assistants update your site safely
Workroom's MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, or any MCP client read the authored site, patch only what changed, publish an immutable version, and restore an earlier one.
BuildingHow Workroom builds a website from one brief
One description of your business becomes a complete site: web research, an architect pass that fixes the design system, parallel page builds, and a homepage that publishes early.
HostingHow Workroom keeps hosting fast and secure
Published sites are served at Cloudflare's edge, looked up by hostname, cached briefly, and returned under a strict policy. Custom domains get a certificate issued and renewed for you.
