How Workroom keeps hosting fast and secure
Published sites are not served by the dashboard. They are served at Cloudflare's edge by a dedicated worker that looks the site up by the hostname that was requested, caches the bundle briefly, and returns it under a strict content-security policy. Custom domains run through Cloudflare for SaaS, so the certificate is issued and renewed for you. Sites also live on a different registrable domain from the app, so site code can never reach dashboard cookies.
How it works.
The edge serves the site, not the app
Published-site traffic is handled at Cloudflare's edge and resolved in a single lookup, so serving a page never queues behind application work.
Lookup is keyed by hostname
A request can only ever resolve to the site that owns the host it asked for. There is no path through which one site's pages can render on another's address.
Responses are cached briefly at the edge
Site responses carry a short shared-cache window, so repeat visits are answered from the edge. Pages that personalise per visitor skip shared caching entirely.
Your domain gets a certificate automatically
Point a domain you own at Workroom and the certificate is issued and renewed for you. There is no separate certificate step to run.
Sites are isolated from the dashboard
Generated sites are served from a different registrable domain than the app, under a policy that blocks external script sources by default.
What to know before you rely on it.
- Building and previewing is free. Publishing on your own domain is part of the paid plan.
- Because responses are cached at the edge, a freshly published change can take up to about a minute to be visible everywhere.
- A generated site is a bundle of static files. There is no server-side code of your own running on it.
- The security policy is strict on purpose: third-party scripts are blocked, which also means a tracking snippet you paste into a page may simply not run.
Questions, answered.
Do I have to set up SSL?+
No. Connect a domain you own and the certificate is issued and renewed automatically.
How quickly does a change go live?+
Your workroom address follows the newest version straight away, and edge caches refresh within about a minute.

How Workroom makes every change reversible
Nothing edits your site in place. Every change writes a new immutable version of the whole bundle, restoring is itself a new version, and your domain only moves when you promote.
Existing sitesHow Workroom connects to the site you already have
Register a website you already own, add one script tag, and visits and enquiries arrive in your workroom. No rebuild, no hosting change, no migration.
BuildingHow Workroom builds a website from one brief
One description of your business becomes a complete site: web research, an architect pass that fixes the design system, parallel page builds, and a homepage that publishes early.
Describe the business. See the site.
Building and previewing is free, and chat editing is unlimited.
